Thank you to two partners who helped us over the weekend. Champions Crusaiders found a foster home for Smidgy, a 7-8 year Long Haired Chihuahua who lost his home due to the death of the man and hospitalization of the woman. He is shy at first but then friendly, walks well on a leash, is crate trained and wants to be loved. If interested in meeting him contact Champions Crusaiders.
Thanks also to Humane Animal Rescue of Pittsburgh (HARP) for admitting a beautiful young rat snake found caught on a sticky trap. Please do not use sticky traps as they cause prolonged and slow deaths for the ones caught, often non target animals.

Poor Ozzy was left behind when his owner died. Desperately looking for a foster home. Call 724-548-4520 if you can give him a temporary safe haven!
We are thankful that we could place Ozzy with a foster family Please watch for updates. After he visits vets this week he will be up for adoption. Please share his story so we can find Ozzy a new family to enjoy his senior years.
Please help us by fostering Ozzy. He is running out of time as alone at house and no one to care for him after this weekend. URGENT

Thank you to Elwood Kennel & Grooming for cleaning inches of mud, filth, and stench from Tippy, an elderly dog that was surrendered to us today to begin her new life!

We had the honor to meet Officer Cunningham recently.
A dedicated officer who will be truly missed.
We extend our heartfelt condolences to the family, friends and colleagues of Washington County Humane Society Police Officer Cathy Cunningham, who passed away this week.
We pay tribute to her spirit and lifesaving work, and we thank her for her tireless advocacy for animals in crisis and her commitment to making our region more humane and compassionate for all our animal friends.
