Today, we proudly congratulate the dual enrolled high school students at Science Hill on successfully completing their State EMT Basic Practical Exam.
Your dedication, hard work, and enthusiasm for EMS are truly inspiring. The commitment each of you has shown throughout this journey will not only make you outstanding providers, but will also strengthen the communities you will serve. The future of EMS is brighter because of you.
We would also like to recognize the incredible instructor behind this group, Mr. Philbrick. Your guidance, encouragement, and unwavering support have made a lasting impact on these students. You have poured your heart into this program, and it clearly shows through the confidence, professionalism, and success of your students. This achievement would not have been possible without your dedication.
A special thank you also goes to Brandon Archer at WCJC EMS for everything he has done to support the clinical portion of these students’ education. Your mentorship, time, and commitment helped provide these students with valuable real-world experience that has been instrumental in their success.
Congratulations to all of the students at Science Hill, Mr. Philbrick, and Brandon Archer on this outstanding accomplishment. It’s a beautiful day to save lives.

We are incredibly proud of three of our paramedic students who recently participated in the Battle of the Smokies in Pigeon Forge!
Chelsae, Hunter, and Murphy were challenged with a high-intensity scenario where they had just 30 minutes to rapidly assess, stabilize, and transport multiple patients. This competition truly put their newly learned skills to the test, and they rose to the occasion with professionalism, confidence, and teamwork.
While we did not place in the top three, the experience was invaluable. The growth, hands-on learning, and real-world pressure they faced will help shape them into outstanding paramedics. We couldn’t be more proud of the skill, composure, and dedication they demonstrated throughout the scenario.
Chelsae, Hunter, and Murphy, you are going to be amazing medics, and our region is so lucky to have you serving our communities. Keep pushing forward , this is only the beginning!

The Northeast State Paramedic Program is excited and grateful to be hosting ACR. We are especially thankful to HEART for collaborating with us and for thinking of our program when scheduling this course. This is an incredible opportunity to come together, challenge how we currently approach cardiac arrest care, and learn evidence-based strategies to improve what truly matters.
This course goes beyond achieving ROSC. It focuses on improving systems of care and outcomes that allow patients to return to their families after cardiac arrest. We invite providers to come ready to unlearn, rethink, and refine the way we manage cardiac arrest, with the goal of delivering better care and better outcomes for the communities we serve.
The course will take place from 9:00–15:30 at the Kingsport Center for Higher Education, 300 West Market Street, Kingsport, TN 37660, Room 131.
Registration is required, and space is limited. Please register using the following link:
