From teardown to reinstall, our service team gave this vertical turbine a second life. 🔧

After removing the pump from service, our team completed a full refurbishment including:
• Replacing worn line shafts and bearings
• Upgrading from packing to a mechanical seal
• Machining and restoring critical components
• Applying a protective epoxy coating
• Precision wear ring work to restore proper clearances

Once back on-site, the team reinstalled the pump, set impeller clearance, aligned the seal and motor assembly, and verified proper rotation and operation before startup.

Shutoff reliability matters in pulp & paper systems. When handling slurry, stock, and viscous media, dependable isolation helps reduce downtime and maintenance.

This week marks Sue Petit's 50th work anniversary with Crane Engineering.

When Sue joined the team on June 1, 1976, Crane Engineering had just 15 employees, no service department, and no computers. Over the past five decades, she has witnessed tremendous growth while helping shape the company into what it is today.

What's especially remarkable is that we still serve some of the same customers from when Sue first started, and we continue to represent longtime partners like Viking Pump and Goulds Pumps. Through it all, Sue's dedication, knowledge, and commitment have been a constant.

Sue, thank you for everything you have contributed over the last 50 years. Your impact on our team, our customers, and our company is immeasurable.
