After reading The Great Gatsby, Mrs. Cabler’s 11th grade student curated their very own Roaring 20s Museum in the Library.
Each student selected a key figure, event, or topic from the Roaring 20s era to research and represent.
They utilized the STEM cart, 3d printers, legos, crafts, poster printers, and more from our Makerspace to create their artifacts.
They put on their museum today and had 8th grade ELA classes come to visit and listen to them present their artifact.

Mrs. Graham’s listened to the book, The Rabbit Listened by Cori Doerrfeld, and learned about how to love our friends by just being there for them when they need us. We also discussed the importance of loving ourselves and made self-love jars. ❤️🩷❤️

Mrs. Duncan’s 10th graders came to the library to read The Masque of the Red Death by Edgar Allan Poe. After learning about color symbolism, the students got creative and built a 3D room after they chose a color and its meaning. 🎭

Mrs. Graham’s class loves library day each week. We’ve had the best time this year so far reading and learning about different things each week. This week we learned about the life cycle of a pumpkin and made a booklet along with it to share with family and friends. 🧡🎃

We’ve been having a lot of fun in the BHS library.
We’ve been “dating” some cell parts with Mrs. Tubbs’ 7th grade science classes during Organelle Speed Dating , discovering our reading personalities through Genre Quizzes with 7th and 10th graders , and sharpening our research skills by finding credible sources with 11th graders.
Yesterday, we took a virtual field trip with Mr. Boatwright’s Earth & Space Science class to explore the glowing world of bioluminescent ocean creatures and it was super neat!

We are looking to add more books to our shelves for our students in grades 7–12. If you have gently used or new books you’d like to donate, we would be so grateful!
We are especially in need of:
🔹 Mystery / Thriller / Horror
🔹 Graphic Novels
🔹 Any kind of non-fiction
🔹 Contemporary Fiction
🔹 And really, ANY engaging books that middle and high school students would enjoy!
Your donations would go directly into the hands of our students who are always eager for new books to read. 💛
Edited to add: we also have a faculty only bookshelf that many of our faculty and staff enjoy that can be donated to as well.
