the most stunning sight 🐋 For being 40T mammals, humpbacks navigate these blue waters with serious grace 🩰

Another reason why Maui is so ideal for whale watching? Our crystal clear waters 🌊 This whale chose to greet us within the 100 yd approach limit. When that happens, we often turn off our engines entirely in respect of the gentle giant. If you’re lucky, they continue to hang around like this one. When winds are down and the water is flat, don’t forget to look down!

🐋 Whale Season is officially here 🐋
We are starting the season strong with this incredible mugging as captured by our crew. Humpbacks are incredibly curious and it is such a gift to be greeted by these gentle giants.

For being a 30 ton giant, humpback whales are extremely acrobatic! Did you notice this one is missing a chunk of its fluke? (Fancy word for whale tail 🐋)

Maui’s clear water is hard to beat! Especially at Molokini crater where the visibility consistently boasts over 100ft daily 😳

In honor of whale season starting soon, we need to throw back to this incredible mugging. As always, we respect the 100yd approach limit to our protected giants, and often turn off the engines entirely if the whale is showing interest. This whale was particularly curious and it’s safe to say that our guests and crew received the show of a lifetime! 🐋
