ME: For much of the year, the top of Cadillac Mountain in Acadia National Park sees the first rays of sunlight of anywhere in the United States each day. We were lucky to be on the summit for one of those days.

As a side note, we are having trouble with our hosting company, and our website is down temporarily. All the social channels are still up, but we'll give you an update when the blog is back online.

Minnesota: Home - US Anywhere 12/07/2016

Oh, hey! Did you wonder what happened to us (yes/no?) Well, we decided speed things up following the election and make our way home. Here's why. (FYI, we'll have lots more to come- we are still sitting on so much content from the rest of our trip. It's coming!)

Minnesota: Home - US Anywhere It’s been hard to talk about coming home. We never made a big announcement or called people up. We did it quietly and without much fanfare, telling only those who asked. We had too many feelings about it. We knew deep down that it was the right thing to do but felt anxious about stopping early-[...]

Montana: Glacier Calling - US Anywhere 11/20/2016

MT: Our trip to Glacier National Park is up on the blog! Wishing we could go back to (what felt like) a more optimistic time. Regardless, Glacier is GLORIOUS! 🎒🐻🌷🏔🌈

Montana: Glacier Calling - US Anywhere I’m not sure that we can wax poetic enough about Montana. It’s a special place, one of those states that has a mythical aura to it. It’s the West, but it’s also the North- and as such has a rugged, outdoorsy appeal that smacks of pine trees, horses and rolling mountains. In some ways we can thank Mo...

DC: Our hearts are in pieces.
We were lucky enough to visit the new Smithsonian National Museum of African American History this morning. It reminded us that this country has seen horror and injustice many times before.
We were inspired by the choices our fellow Americans have made to stand up for what is right, time and again, in the face of great risk- no matter that a majority looked them in the eye and told them they were wrong. It's time to stand with our brothers and sisters who cannot win this fight alone. Hatred cannot win.

Alaska: Our Final Frontier - US Anywhere You guys, Alaska!! Of all the states to visit this entire year, Alaska was the one we were most excited for. Alaska was one of the only states we specifically planned around, since we wanted to be there for the summer solstice, or “the longest day of the year” (it can be light outside for over 20[.....

Hawaii: Big Island or Bust - US Anywhere 09/01/2016

A new blog post is up about Hawaii featuring volcanoes, black sand beaches and a groovy night market!

Hawaii: Big Island or Bust - US Anywhere My kindergarten teacher Molly was obsessed with Hawaii. We had a weeks-long learning unit about the tropical state that culminated in a day-long luau, complete with mumus, leis, and imitation ‘poi’ served in Dixie cups. I remember this party as being completely magical and immersive; it’s funny to t...

Oregon: The Best of the Pacific Northwest - US Anywhere 08/15/2016

A new post is up re: travels in Oregon!

Oregon: The Best of the Pacific Northwest - US Anywhere Finally, we arrived at the Pacific Northwest! Woohoo! The state of Oregon holds a very special place in my heart. At 17, I visited the evergreen state to look at colleges and completely fell in love with it (especially Portland, whose diners, record shops and boutiques felt like cool people paradise...

ND: We've officially said goodbye to The West! We're sad to leave, but it had to happen sometime.😢 Next up is The Midwest, which almost feels like home. It's mighty hot right now, but unexpectedly beautiful!
