The FEMA Review Council, established in January 2025, was tasked with evaluating and reforming the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA).

Public comments are being accepted until June 8, 2026, and FIRM encourages everyone to read the report and comment. You can read more details on the our website and read comments submitted by FIRM focusing on meaningful reforms to the NFIP, which has had more than 30 short-term reauthorizations since 2017.

Stopped by Monroe County Emergency Opertions Center to pick up some hurricane guides and preparedness brochures and got an impromptu tour. Wow! Really impressive building and readiness systems. But I hope they don't have to use it any time soon!
