2023 proves to be record-setting year for sea turtle nesting season in Broward County The numbers were highest for all three sea turtle species, according to the county.

Florida sea turtles face a new threat from microplastics: hotter sand A new study by Florida State University researchers has found a high amount of microplastics in sand on Gulf Coast beaches, which heat up sand and produce too many female turtle hatchlings.

The Key West Turtle Museum faired well in the storm. The only damage we see is a broken pane of glass in a tiny window on the waterside Roof and all else is fine. KW Bight held up

The city of Key West lost many of our prized old trees. Power is being restored bit by bit. Water lines are turned on only during set times so we can create a supply for flushing potties.
