My current work setup at home while our studios at are being renovated. It took me a minute to get into my new groove but after unpacking and reorganizing and adjusting, I’ve been able to stop and admire the shadows dancing on our breakfast nook. The monarch caterpillars creating their chrysalis right next to me. My wind chimes guiding me through each painting. The eb and flow of the sunlight through my window. Today I was able to slow down and breathe. And I’m very excited to be guided back to my watercolors for several new projects I’m working on this month. I can’t wait to share them with you!

Frankie, my cat shadow, is beyond happy I’m right by her side more too. But if any of yall have suggestions on how to get her to stop scratching furniture I’m all ears! I thought maybe with her only having three legs we were in the clear but nope.

Beyond honored to be a part of this process show “Art Outside” with these two amazing artists, Valerie and Landis. Our Art Outside meetups have stirred this creativity inside me that has been screaming to get out! And without this process I would have never embarked on such large, “abstract” pieces.

Over the past few months, the three of us have adopted a simple practice: taking our art supplies into the landscape and creating directly within it. We sit with the elements, observing, sketching, painting, and allowing the environment to guide the experience. The process is quiet and intentional. It asks us to slow down, to notice, and to be present without judgment. We take what resonates and leave what does not.
For me, my attention often returns to the water, the way ripples move across the surface, how light shifts within them, and how they meet the shoreline in constant conversation, reshaping the landscape over time. These moments of observation become studies and fragments of inspiration that I later carry back to the studio.

The work that emerges is shaped by these experiences: by time spent sitting, watching, and listening to the subtle rhythms of the natural world. What begins as a moment outside becomes a piece that holds that presence. A quiet reminder to pause, observe, and reconnect with the elements around us. I want the pieces I create from these experiences to give the viewer that gift of a simple, shifting, calming moment in nature.

These pieces hold so much of my heart. They shaped the very beginning of me becoming an artist. The experimenting, the late nights, the courage to take myself seriously. I still love them dearly, and letting them go isn’t easy.

But growth asks us to shed. To make space. To release what carried us so we can step fully into what’s next.

This sale is part gratitude, part transformation, a chance for these works to find their new homes while I move forward into the artist I’m becoming.
