Strong communities don’t happen by accident.
They’re built by people who care enough to get involved.
Rotary is one of the ways that happens, bringing people together to take action where it matters most.

✨ Member Spotlight: Cris Beaty ✨
This week, we’re proud to spotlight Cris Beaty, CFO of Florida Keys Electric Cooperative Assoc., Inc., and a dedicated member of the Rotary Club of Key Largo since 1997.
Cris was first introduced to Rotary by Bette Brown-Herlth, who invited him to a meeting and became his sponsor into the club. Nearly three decades later, his commitment to service and leadership continues to leave a lasting impact on our community.
Over the years, Cris has worn many hats within Rotary, from serving as a two-time Club President to working behind the scenes as both Club Treasurer and Foundation Treasurer. He’s also enjoyed serving as an Interact advisor, participating on the scholarship committee, volunteering at Chili Cook-Offs, and helping with the original Ladies Dolphin Tournaments.
For Cris, Rotary is important because it brings community leaders together to enhance and improve the quality of life throughout the Florida Keys.
When asked to describe Rotary in one word, he chose “Encompassing” because Rotary offers opportunities to serve on every level, locally, district-wide, internationally, and even globally for those looking to truly change the world.
Outside of Rotary, Cris and his wife are jazz enthusiasts who love attending jazz festivals and intimate live performances. He also appreciates the unique balance of life in the Florida Keys — enjoying the charm of a small-town community while still being close to the culture and energy of Miami.
Thank you, Cris, for your years of dedication, leadership, and service to our community. 💙
Rotary is more than local — it’s global.
With over 1.2 million members across 200+ countries, Rotary connects people who are committed to solving real-world challenges.
And it all starts at the local level.
Right here in the Keys.

We also want to thank every single member of our club for the countless hours, volunteer efforts, support, and dedication you have given throughout the past year. Rotary’s impact would not be possible without each and every one of you.
Because this is what Rotary is all about, neighbors helping neighbors, building friendships, and creating meaningful change together. Congratulations to all of this year’s award recipients, and thank you for everything you do for our community.
