Happy 7th Birthday to us!!! And what an amazing year it has been. This year we were awarded grants from both and that helped us scale up our cleanups, production, community engagement, and product development.
Through our cleanups, we worked with 250+ volunteers to remove 6,000+ pounds of pollution from the South Florida ecosystems.
We brought Plastic Poetry to and the new headquarters, where we transformed 75+ pounds of unrecyclable plastic into poetry.
And we also started producing plastic lumber, new coasters, chairs, benches, works of art, and more new products made from plastic waste and salvaged materials. And, we have officially started developing the Salvagers Collective, a material network designed to divert waste by transforming it into byproducts that can be directly connected to artists, businesses, and makers for use in new projects and works.
Thank you to all of our supporters, partners, friends, and donors. And here’s to another great year!!!!

We are thrilled to be pumping out beams made from post consumer plastic! For our newest piece, we combined 6+ pounds of plastic waste with a salvaged steel base to make this cute little patio chair.
New molds are being made, and with that, we will be producing more plastic lumber. So excited!!
As always, a HUGE thank you to our supporters, partners, and collaborators. Thanks for making April an amazing Earth Month!

We just finished up 150 keychains for Plastic Fisherman Global!
Collaboration is one of the pillars of Free Plastic, and we are thrilled to be working with a new friend, Plastic Fisherman. These keychains are made from 1.4lbs of recycled ocean plastic sourced from Plastic Fisherman’s cleanups.
Want to learn more, get involved, and celebrate Earth Month? We have a Earth Day cleanup this Saturday with CLEAN THIS BEACH UP @ Sun Of A Beach Cleanup, and Plastic Fisherman Global has their Earth Day celebration this Sunday in Surfside.

New collaborators bring new products! Our Rainbow Eucalyptus inspired bench is our first step towards working with plastic lumber — sheets and beams made from unrecyclable plastic harvested from South Florida communities.
This isn’t a new invention, nor is it new to South Florida, but it is a dream project finally come to life. Since 2019, we have dreamt of working with plastic lumber and getting to explore all of its potential. We are so excited to keep pushing to see what plastic pollution can become.
Thank you to our friend Plastic Fisherman Global for this and all future collabs & projects!

Thanks for sharing our work !
“Nathan Moyer has built an entire nonprofit on the idea that trash can be treasure. After a decade helping local nonprofits and businesses with design and branding, the artist launched Free Plastic in 2019 with the goal of transforming ocean plastic and post-consumer waste into something beautiful and functional.
Since then, Free Plastic has collected more than five tons of pollution from South Florida ecosystems and recycled hundreds of pounds into works of art, public installations, and park signage.
Moyer’s creations range from vibrant pieces for the Museum of Contemporary Art North Miami’s “Poetry on the Plaza” program to recycled plastic signage at Big Cypress National Preserve. He has also engaged thousands through community workshops, proving that plastic isn’t just a problem to be tossed away but-with the right mindset-a material with surprising potential.” — for Aventura Magazine, November 2025
