What an awesome meeting we had last night! Thanks again to Brandon Couch for coming to speak about his moving and compelling book, Step 4: A Journey Through Addiction. https://amzn.to/49fm7Na. To those who brought yummy cookies, Eric, Jimmy and Nancy, thank you! (Cookies and writing just go hand-in-hand, don't they?) And to all who shared their work, good job and keep on writing!

Hi friends! Linore here. I had some thoughts on writing this morning, which I thought I'd share: The high call of Christian writers is to tell parables. A parable is "a real-life illustration set alongside a Biblical truth to give an example. Parables are not fables. Jesus didn't tell fanciful stories with morals. He took real-life situations familiar to all, and used them to bring forth God's truth, especially for those open to hear His truth." (Guzik, Commentary on Luke, p. 257)
In a nutshell, you could say that's what I try to do with my stories. It was the motivating factor for my first published novel, and it is my aim when I write today.
What about you? Does this idea speak into why you write? Why or why not?
