What a wonderful Saturday at the Kent Fishing Experience!
Thank you to the City of Kent Parks, Recreation & Community Services Department staff and the rotaryclubofkent for organizing such a special event for our kids and families. It was amazing to see the community come together to help children learn, fish, and create lasting memories.
A special thank you as well to Kent Police Department, Puget Sound Regional Fire Authority, and all the volunteers who spent the day helping kids fish and making the experience so meaningful.

In between all these events, I got to spend time at the kentlittleleague fields cheering on my son and daughter during their games. There’s nothing better than seeing young athletes build confidence, teamwork, and friendships while having fun out on the field. Thank you to all the coaches, volunteers, and families who make youth sports possible for our community.

I ended the day at the Berieter House “Build a Bouquet” event with my two youngest. We had such a fun time learning together and creating beautiful bouquet. Grateful for opportunities that bring families and community together through creativity and connection. Thank you greaterkenthistoricalsociety for putting on this event. So much fun.

I visited the fire station with Puget Sound Fire to recognize graduates of the CERT program and present certificates. Thank you to these dedicated community members for stepping up to learn emergency preparedness and serve others in times of need. Our community is stronger because of volunteers like you. I would highly recommend this training to our community members. I was joined by Tukwila CMs Ho and Kruler and Kent CM Troutner.

I had an amazing time at French Field cheering on our kentschools415 elementary students during the Junior Olympics! It was such a joy to see their hard work, teamwork, and determination on display. Congratulations to all the young athletes, and I was honored to help hand out trophies and celebrate their accomplishments along with my colleagues CMs Michaud, Shoker and Troutner.
Another amazing event organized by Kent Parks, Recreation & Community Services

Started the day with Councilmember Michaud by welcoming volunteers at the Green Kent event in the Mill Creek neighborhood. Grateful to everyone who came out to help keep our community clean, green, and beautiful. Small acts of service make a big impact, and it’s always inspiring to see neighbors working together for Kent. Thanks to our amazing Kent Parks, Recreation & Community Services staff for organizing these events.

We had such a great time at the Teddy Bear Clinic, one of the kids’ favorite events! Watching firefighters “fix” their stuffies never gets old.
Baby Mohkam made sure Mr. Bear was well taken care of and comfortable on his ride to the hospital.
Thank you to Puget Sound Fire for putting on such a fun and meaningful event for families!
Thank you, CM Boyd for handing out bears.

We have a blast as a family at backpack buddies. My dad has been a consistent volunteer. Always looking for more volunteers to join.

Thank you, King County Council, for Vaisakhi proclamation. Thank you, CM Fain and PVR for sponsoring this important proclamation honoring a sacred day marking the founding of the Khalsa and the contributions of Sikh Americans. Thank you, Jaskaran Singh Sarao for organizing this with the county staff.

Sikhs have been part of the Pacific Northwest for over a century, persevering through challenges like the Bellingham riots. We also remember pioneers like Bhagat Singh Thind, whose legal battle for citizenship helped shape the course of civil rights in the United States.

It has been an honor to serve as one of the first Sikh women elected in Washington State, alongside Manka Dhingra; we were elected the same night in 2017.

Such a fun and full Saturday for our family here in Kent!
We attended YMCA Kids Day with the YMCA and Kent Parks. We planted flowers in a boot, enjoying a bike-powered smoothie, and spending time with so many wonderful community members. Special moment for me: this picture was taken by my daughter ❤️
We wrapped up the day at kentlittleleague League cheering on my kids in their softball and T-ball games.
Grateful for days like this- busy, meaningful, and filled with community, family, and fun. Proud to be part of such an amazing Kent community!

I had the pleasure of attending an Earth Day celebration with Kent Parks alongside community members and Councilmember Michaud, where I was honored to help welcome and thank our incredible volunteers.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who continues to show up- planting trees, removing invasive species, and caring for our shared spaces. Your dedication truly makes a difference in keeping our community healthy and thriving. Seeing so many young people engaged in protecting our environment is inspiring and gives me great hope for the future.

Together, we are building a stronger, greener community 🌎
