Washington state has over 3,000 documented waterfalls, more than any other US state. Washington's mountainous landscape and abundant precipitation create ideal conditions for waterfalls. The state's wet season lasts about eight months, and heavy snowfall in the mountains melts in the spring, generating a constant flow of water. Many of Washington's waterfalls are unnamed and undiscovered.
