Customer: My motorcycle got stolen.

Me: I’m so sorry to hear that. Let’s get a claim started.

Customer: What part of my policy will pay for this?

Me: Your comprehensive coverage applies here. Comprehensive coverage protects against theft, fire, vandalism, damage to windows (if it were a car), hitting a deer, and acts of God, like a large branch falling on your vehicle.

Customer: What if the claim payout isn’t enough to cover what I still owe on my loan?

Me: If you’re ever concerned that a total loss payout might not cover the remaining balance on your loan, you should always consider purchasing gap insurance when financing the vehicle.

While this policy does include "total loss" coverage—which replaces the motorcycle with a new, comparably equipped model within two years of the purchase date—it’s not the same as gap coverage.

Any "total loss" type coverage offered through an insurance policy does not protect against the financial shortfall between the claim payout and the remaining loan balance the way gap insurance does.

Most "total loss" coverages:
- Expire after a set period.
- Can only be purchased when the vehicle is new.
- Only covers the difference between the used vehicle value and the cost of a new replacement.

Gap insurance, on the other hand, lasts for the entirety of your loan term and typically covers 110-125% of your loan’s value. Gap policies are usually offered at the dealership or through the bank when you first finance the vehicle.

Gap Insurance > Total Loss Coverage

Dear Georgians,

THIS is one of the main reasons your home insurance is so high or you got non renewed. Getting a roof through an insurance claim when there wasn’t an actual loss associated with it- IS NOT FREE. Keep in mind, roofers are one of the ONLY BUSINESSES THAT DO NOT REQUIRE A LICENSE IN GEORGIA.

Insurance is for indemnity. Indemnity means bringing you back to where you were previous to a covered loss. As a homeowner it is your responsibility to take care of your roof and home over the years.

If a storm comes through and blows your roof off, slams hail into it making holes and leaks, impales a branch into it, a fire burns it, THOSE are covered losses.

Just like making wear and tear claims on a vehicle is fraud, you shouldn’t use a door to door roofer to pretend you have more damage than you do after a normal storm to get a MARKED UP new roof every 10-20 years through your insurance company.

Note the article in comments and that it states FRAUD. You can argue this fact and talk about how corrupt you think insurance companies are but it won’t make a difference. Especially not to me… a struggling small business owner.

The more this happens the more inevitable it is that rate increases by double digit amounts will continue and more and more insurance companies will pull out of Georgia entirely.

I’m often really hard on myself when I need to step away from “the grind”. Consistency is a super power I hate to turn off. Sometimes we HAVE to.

This whole last week I couldn’t concentrate. Grief, anxiety, stress, and disappointment flooded every inch of my heart and mind. Instead of being hard on myself, I made intent for my mental break.

I stepped away from the daily grind with intent to heal what has been causing rigidity. I rely so heavily on my mind and when my heart is broken my mind doesn’t work correctly.

Am I fully healed? Hell no. Is my heart ‘unbroken’? Absolutely not. But I stepped away long enough to reevaluate my mindset, pivot, and push forward. Intention is everything.

⭐️☀️I did my 40 pound ruck from 6-6:45 this morning and watching the sunrise was just absolutely phenomenal.

Doing difficult things before most the world is awake is INTOXICATING.

Today while I was cleaning my garage one of the neighbor kids came in and asked, “How much does that bar weigh?”.

I told him, “It’s an Olympic bar and those are 45 pounds and 7ft long”. For the next 15 minutes, I proceeded to teach him how to dead lift.

These kids have been watching me walk around the neighborhood with 40 pounds strapped to my body, lift, and HIIT in my garage for YEARS.

Kids don’t always listen to what you say but they do see what you do. I try to live my life by the quote, “Personal excellence is the ultimate rebellion.” -

I may not have kids of my own but I aspire daily to be a good example for others. 💪

Nothing in my life is the way I want or expected it to be. I haven’t met any of my goals for the year. I’m lonely really often but too guarded to really do anything about it.

Last night, I didn’t want to get ready for Jessica’s Halloween birthday party. I felt ugly, unwanted, and miserable. Instead of listening to my often depressing inner voice, I listened to my family instead. I threw together a costume with a witch hat Montana found for me and we had a blast.

Life will never be exactly what I imagined and there will be plenty more years where I don’t meet goals. In the ebb and flow of finding the good in life, I’m always forever grateful for my family. I’m pretty lucky to party with a roomful of people that would do just about anything to cheer me up!
