Sturgis Library update!

The old carpet on the ground floor is mostly gone, and the walls are prepped for paint! New walls awaiting doors and paint are on the third floor, and our Collections Management team is hard at work vacuuming books and shelves and reorganizing parts of our collection to free up shelf space and make the stacks more accessible.

There’s someone new at the check out desk at Johnson Library on the Marietta campus!

Meet Mary Flores. She joined the University Libraries team in April as a User Services Associate, and helps patrons find information, troubleshoot the printer, use library resources, and encourages them to check out more fiction books!

Mary is a U.S. Navy veteran and graduated with a degree in marketing and a degree in business administration from Columbia College of Missouri. Previously, she worked at the Sequoyah Regional Library in Canton, GA as a Service Associate before joining KSU.

Outside of work, she enjoys volunteering with Trees Atlanta, spending time with family, and working towards her goal of biking the entire Silver Comet Trail.

Sturgis Library on the Kennesaw campus may be closed this week, but Johnson Library on the Marietta campus is here to help!

Johnson Library is open during regular hours and offers the same printing, technology, and research support services available at Sturgis Library on the Kennesaw campus. While you're here, check out some of our favorite study spots, including the computer lab, study carrels on the lower level, study alcoves, and study rooms!

Johnson Library Hours:
Monday - Thursday: 8:00AM - 10:00PM
Friday: 8:00AM - 5:00PM
Saturday: 9:30AM - 6:00PM
Sunday: 1:00PM - 9:00PM

Attention, Owls! Sturgis Library on the Kennesaw campus will be CLOSED June 8 - 12 as a critical water pipe is replaced.

The library will remain open this weekend and next weekend, and Johnson Library on the Marietta campus will continue operating on its regular summer schedule.

During the closure:
• Digital resources, including scholarly journals, databases, and 24/7 Chat with a Live Librarian, will remain available.
• In-person library services, physical collections, and research support will be available at Johnson Library.
• UITS offices on the fourth floor of Sturgis Library will temporarily relocate to the Technology Annex.

Our University Libraries are closed Saturday, May 23 through Monday, May 25 in observance of Memorial Day. We will reopen for our regular weekday hours of 8:00AM - 10:00PM on Tuesday, May 26.

to when service dogs in training visited Johnson Library on the Marietta campus!

The dogs and their puppy raisers stopped by last month for some real-world practice. They got lots of attention from staff and students, and we were delighted to host them.

Thank you to the pups from Guide Dog Foundation for the Blind and America's VetDogs for stopping by! 🐾♥️

Both Sturgis and Johnson Library are now on their summer schedules! The new hours are:

Monday through Thursday: 8:00AM - 10:00PM
Friday: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Saturday: 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM
Sunday: 1:00 PM - 9:00 PM

The libraries are closed May 23 through May 25 for Memorial Day weekend, June 19 for Juneteenth, and July 3 through July 5 for Fourth of July weekend.

Please note the ground floor of Sturgis Library on the Kennesaw Campus is closed for renovation, but the library remains open and can be accessed through the first floor entrances.

Attention, Lords and Ladies!

The Great British Read-Off Champion has been crowned and is hereby granted Literary Lordship! Tim Vong, an engineering student here at KSU, received this esteemed honor for attending every single Year of the UK Book Club event. 👑📚🇬🇧

We are thankful for his contributions, and for his involvement in both Year of the UK festivities and Museums, Archives, Rare Books, and University Libraries events. Here’s to his Lordship, and to another great year of Book Clubs!

The ground floor of Sturgis Library on the Kennesaw campus is closing for renovations!

Starting tomorrow, Thursday, May 14, patrons will access the library through two temporary entrances. The North entrance, where the Info Desk will be located, can be found along the walkway between Sturgis Library and University Hall. The South entrance can be found along the walkway between Sturgis Library and the Math and Statistics Building

Directional signage will be posted on Thursday to help you navigate these changes. Thank you for your patience and understanding as we make these exciting renovations!
