🏠 Termite Season is Coming! Is Your Home Ready? 🐜
As the temperatures rise, termites begin to "swarm" and look for new places to call home. Don’t let your house be on their list!

At House Call Pest Control, we believe the best defense is a proactive offense. Now is the perfect time to prep your property and ensure you’re protected before the season hits its peak.

Quick Tips to Prep Your Home:
Clear the Perimeter: Keep mulch, firewood, and debris away from your foundation.

Check for Leaks: Termites love moisture! Fix any leaky outdoor faucets or clogged gutters.

Seal the Gaps: Look for cracks in your foundation or siding where pests might enter.

⚠️ Don’t Forget to Verify Your Contract!
Prevention is much cheaper than repairs. Take a moment today to check your current termite contract. Ensure your coverage is up to date and your annual inspection is scheduled.

Not sure if you’re covered? Give us a call! We’re here to help you keep your home a "termite-free zone."

Formosan termites are back, ready to swarm in New Orleans. Here's when to be worried. 05/13/2025

Termite swarm season is almost here, and the best defense is prevention.

The key to keeping termites away is denying them access to food (wood), moisture, and shelter.

Here are some simple but effective steps to help protect your home:

Maintain at least a 2-inch gap between your home and planter boxes or soil-filled porches.

Eliminate any wood-to-soil contact (like trellises, fence posts, and stair casings)—use masonry blocks or treated wood instead.

Keep shrubs and landscaping trimmed away from the foundation for easier inspection.

Use pressure-treated wood to prevent moisture damage.

Seal all openings in your home’s foundation.

Clear away wood scraps and stumps near the house.

Ensure there’s 12 to 18 inches of clearance between floor beams and the soil beneath your home.

Most importantly, schedule your termite inspection or treatment today!

The most important thing to do is to deny termites access to food (wood), moisture and shelter. Follow these suggestions:

Have at least a 2-inch clearance between the house and planter boxes and soil-filled porches.
Eliminate all wood-to-soil contact, such as trellises, fence posts, stair casings, and door facings (they can be put on masonry blocks or on treated wood).
Separate shrubbery from the house to help make it easier to inspect the foundation line.
Use pressure-treated wood so that rain will not rot it.
Seal any openings through the foundation.
Remove wood scraps and stumps from around the foundation.
Have at least 12 to 18 inches of clearance between floor beams and the soil underneath.

Most importantly schedule your inspection or treatment today!
