Wowzer! We had a huge student access increase over all of last year. The Klosets were accessed 13,178 times from September -December, 2023. For the previous school year, the total was 8836. During the first 6 months of school this year, students needed of food/snacks, hygiene products, or clothing. A huge thank you to the community and businesses that support The Keizer Community Foundation with this project. The Klosets are in all 10 of our Keizer Schools and a project of The Keizer Community Foundation! https://keizercommunityfoundation.org/

The Klosets
2 years ago, a mom was cleaning out her son’s closet preparing for a move. Gently used hoodies needed to be donated. A call to the high school yielded a fact; there was a need for warm clothing and food at our school. Together with the school counselor a closet (small break room) was put together with food and clothing for children in need. Today, there are 7 “Klosets’ in the Keizer area.
Did you know on average, $600 is being spent by educators and counselors each year, to supplement the needs of our children?
Did you know children were found to be “trash diving” on Friday’s to find food for weekends at home?
Do you know how many children wear ill fitting shoes daily?
