There are certain moments in your career that quietly remind you how far you’ve come.

A few years ago, receiving recognition from The Communicator Awards was incredibly meaningful to me as a filmmaker and storyteller. So, to now serve as a juror for the 32nd Annual Communicator Awards as a member of the Academy of Interactive & Visual Arts feels both humbling and deeply rewarding.

Getting the opportunity to help evaluate creative work from communicators, filmmakers, agencies, and artists around the world gave me an even greater appreciation for the passion, intention, and heart behind what we create in this industry.

I’m grateful for every experience, every client, every collaboration, and every story that has helped shape this journey.

Still creating. Still learning. Still honored to be part of this community.

There are moments in this work that remind me exactly why I chose it.

Yesterday I was on a shoot with a longtime client. Walking into the hospital, I realized how many familiar faces there were—people I’ve filmed with over and over again. The CEO knows me. The staff knows me. There’s an ease to it now. Real conversations, real trust. And every time, they thank me for the work… which never stops meaning something.

Last week was a similar kind of experience, just in a different setting. I was on a shoot with a friend, collaborating on one of his projects. We worked hard, but we also had a really good time doing it.

It made me realize that what I love about this work isn’t just the storytelling—it’s the people. The relationships. The chance to show up, create something meaningful together, and actually connect in the process.

That’s the part that stays with me.

Some stories stay with you long after the camera stops rolling.

We’ve recently wrapped a documentary that has been incredibly meaningful to create—one that reflects a life of intellect, love, complexity, and deep human connection.

Behind the scenes, it was hours in the edit suite… reviewing archival photos, shaping conversations, and holding space for moments that carry real emotional weight. This project, in particular, became part of something deeper—a process of grief, reflection, and honoring a life in a way that truly mattered.

Our client has shared how meaningful this experience has been, not just in the final film, but in the journey of revisiting memories and preserving them with intention.

There’s something truly special about being trusted with stories like this—especially when they hold such personal significance. It’s a responsibility we don’t take lightly.

Not every story is meant for a wide audience—and that makes the work even more meaningful.
