Joy isn’t something
we arrive at when
life is finally perfect.
It’s something we notice.
Something we practice.
Something that often lives in the smallest moments. ✨
In our new blog post, I’m reflecting on a phrase I see far too often on our patient intake forms: “lack of joy in life.”
Through stories, personal reflections, and lessons on happiness, joy, and bliss, I explore why so many of us feel disconnected from joy — and how we can begin finding our way back to it, one small moment at a time.

✨What Is Moxa?✨
The gentle warmth behind many acupuncture sessions.
Have you ever had a treatment with Allison where she used moxa and wondered what it was?
Moxa (short for moxibustion) is a traditional East Asian therapy that uses the dried herb mugwort. When gently warmed on specific acupuncture points, moxa creates a deep, soothing heat that can help support circulation, ease tension, and encourage the body's natural healing processes.
Many people describe moxa as:
✨ Deeply relaxing
✨ Comfortingly warm
✨ Supportive for aches, stiffness, low energy, and more.
Moxa delivers a focused warmth that is often used alongside acupuncture to enhance treatment effects and help the body move toward balance.

⭐️ June Theme: Awareness & Balance
June asks one simple question:
✨ What do you need right now?
Many of us are carrying something—stress, overwhelm, uncertainty, exhaustion, disappointment, anxiety, or simply feeling out of sync.
This month is about becoming aware of what's really going on beneath the surface.
What feels out of balance?
What needs more attention?
What needs to be released?
Awareness brings clarity.
Clarity creates change.
🌱 Maybe you need:
• More rest
• Better boundaries
• More connection
• More alone time
• More movement
• More creativity
• Less pressure
• Less carrying what isn't yours
The invitation this month is to stop looking outside yourself for answers and start listening inward.
Notice what your body is telling you.
Notice what your emotions are showing you.
Notice where your energy is leaking.
Then take responsibility for making small shifts toward balance.
Key Dates:
🌸 June 1–7
Emotional clearing and reflection. A powerful time to release, forgive, and reconnect with what truly supports you.
🌑 June 14 – New Moon in Gemini
Fresh perspectives, new ideas, and setting intentions for positive change.
☀️ June 20 – Summer Solstice
A major energetic turning point. Celebrate growth, express gratitude, and welcome a new season.
💪 June 15–22
Themes of self-worth, confidence, and living from your own truth become stronger.
🌕 June 29 – Full Moon in Capricorn
A time to get grounded, focused, and aligned with long-term goals.
This month:
✨ Become more aware.
✨ Create more balance.
✨ Release what no longer serves.
✨ Trust what your inner wisdom is showing you.
The more present you are, the clearer the path becomes.

acupuncture isn’t just for “pain.”
Acupuncture works with the body as a whole system — helping support regulation, balance, and flow so your body can function the way it’s meant to.

Every treatment is individualized, but many approaches in Chinese Medicine are aimed at helping the body feel cooler, calmer, and more regulated over time.
We offer in person or remote consultations to answer your questions and let you know how we may be able to help.

In Chinese Medicine, we often focus on restoring balance rather than forcing symptoms away.
For many people that means helping the body feel more grounded, settled, and regulated again.

Sometimes symptoms that seem unrelated can point to the same underlying pattern in the body.
Acupuncture works to understand the full picture – not just the symptom itself.
If you’re doing with insomnia, irritability, night sweats, or menopause symptoms we may be able to help.
