Monadnock Conservancy
"Together, protecting forever the land we love"
Our mission is to work with communities & landowners
We are an accredited conservation land trust dedicated exclusively to 39 towns in the Monadnock region of southwestern New Hampshire. Our work is supported by donor contributions for the benefit of all who enjoy this beautiful corner of the world -- people, plants, and wildlife -- now and in the future.

Happy Tuesday from Sip Pond in Fitzwilliam where earlier this month volunteers stepped up to remove invasive species and clean up the Conservancy's trail network!
Thank you to everyone who lent a hand - this was hard work on a hot day, and we couldn't be more grateful to these amazing volunteers.

Happy Monday from Fitzwilliam, where we have some big news: 86 acres which include the slope of The Pinnacle – Fitzwilliams’s second highest peak – are now forever conserved!
Landowner Peter Smith of Newton Massachusetts donated the conservation easement covering this land his family has owned since the 1940s and covered the costs of finalizing the easement. The Monadnock Conservancy will hold the conservation easement and monitor the land for generations to come. Thank you Peter for working with Anne McBride and our Land Protection team to see this land conserved!
These acres sit near other conserved and undeveloped land, including the 2,700-acre Rhododendron State Park, other land under easement with the Conservancy, and land owned by the Town of Fitzwilliam.

Happy Thursday from Island Pond in Stoddard where eight islands and a marsh were recently conserved. Our stewardship team was out on the land last this week, observing the beauty and wildlife of this special place. From baby deer (this pic was taken from a distance, no fawns were disturbed) to bass to loons and incredible trees, thank you for supporting this work!

Happy Tuesday from Keene where for NH Gives 2026, which begins at 5pm tonight and runs for 24 hours, we are raising money for our community engagement work!
What is community engagement? The Conservancy’s new headquarters space will help us expand our reach and educate more people in the region about the importance of land conservation and the natural world. We have hired a full-time community engagement manager who is very busy planning new and exciting ways to bring more people (and especially children) into this important work.
Stay tuned for more details on how your donation will help educate and inspire the next generation of little naturalists!
