The idea is to help shoppers who cannot find the right words. The risk is people seeing a made-up product and thinking they can buy that exact thing, only to be let down.

For business owners the lesson is bigger than shopping. AI-generated images that look completely real are everywhere now, and scammers use the same trick. Fake invoices, fake product listings, fake vendor sites that look legitimate. If your team cannot tell real from generated, your business is exposed.

A malware campaign called WeedHack has already infected over 116,000 systems by hiding inside fake Minecraft mods and game clients pushed through YouTube videos and rigged search results. It steals saved passwords from 36 browsers, crypto wallets, and Discord and Steam logins.

Why does this matter to a business owner? Because the line between home and work devices is basically gone. If your kid installs a poisoned mod on the family laptop that you also use for work email, those stolen passwords can include your business accounts.

The whole thing runs as a service, even offering a free tier, so the barrier for would-be criminals is shockingly low. The defense is old-fashioned but it works: only download from official sources, and never trust anything that tells you to disable your antivirus.

That is a double-edged sword. On the defense side, AI is brilliant at hunting bugs before criminals find them. The flip side is that the same capability is coming, and attackers will eventually get their hands on similar tools.
