The feature shares a little about who we are, why Belle’s Buds Rescue was started, and the work our foster-based rescue continues to do for dogs who need a second chance.

The very last Moo puppy! This handsome little guy is 5 months old and still waiting for his foster or forever family.

🐾 ALBA
Our beautiful 4-month-old black-and-white girl! Alba is another sweet puppy waiting for someone to say, “You’re coming home with me.” 🩵

And YES — every single one of these dogs needs either a FOSTER or a FOREVER FAMILY.

MAXWELL UPDATE: SIX DAYS. 2.5 POUNDS. A WHOLE LOT OF LOVE. 🐾🩵

Can we talk about what SIX DAYS can do when a dog finally feels safe?

Maxwell has only been in his foster home for six days, and he has already gained 2.5 pounds! His hair is growing back, his body is beginning to heal, and we are getting to see more and more of the dog who was hiding underneath all that neglect.

And his personality? 🥹

This boy is an absolute LOVE.

Maxwell is incredibly affectionate with everyone he meets, but he especially loves kids. He has even started giving them HUGS — standing up on his back legs and wrapping those front paws around their waist. 😭🩵

He loves playing with other dogs, loves being close to his people, and as you can see from this picture, he has figured out pretty quickly that snuggling on the couch is a whole lot better than hiding in an abandoned pump house.

And we got another piece of GREAT news:

🎉 MAXWELL IS HEARTWORM NEGATIVE! 🎉

Six days ago, this was the terribly thin white dog lying in a ditch that my dad initially thought was a calf.

Today, he is gaining weight.
His hair is growing back.
He is playing.
He is cuddling.
He is giving hugs.
And now…

MAXWELL IS AVAILABLE FOR ADOPTION. 🏡🩵

We don’t know everything that happened before he became a Belle’s Bud, but we know exactly what we want his next chapter to look like.

A family.
A soft place to sleep.
Kids to hug.
Dogs to play with.
And someone who looks at Maxwell and knows he will never be left behind again.

TEAM NO BAD DAYS: EEDIE NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME! 🐾

If Eedie had a life motto, it would definitely be “LET’S GO!” 😂🤍

This gorgeous all-white girl is about 1½ years old and believed to be a Border Collie mix. She has been spending time with Danika at ForTheBirds Dog Training near Columbus, Texas, where she’s been working on her manners and commands—and showing everyone just how smart she is!

Danika describes Eedie perfectly:

“Super smart, loves walking and working, dog and all-people friendly. Still a very goofy puppy wanting to play — on Team No Bad Days!” ☀️

And we’ve learned something else important about Eedie: she can absolutely be a wonderful family dog. Danika has two young boys, ages 4 and 5, and Eedie ADORES them. 💙

Eedie is the kind of dog who wants to be part of the action. Walks, hikes, adventures, playing in the yard, learning something new—she’s ready! She would thrive with an active family who will include her in their lives and continue giving that smart herding-dog brain things to do.

Ursa is accepting applications for her forever home, but she has one very important requirement:

You need to already have a dog. 😂🐾

Ursa absolutely LOVES canine companionship and truly thrives with another dog by her side. She plays beautifully with other dogs and would make an EXCELLENT second dog. For Ursa, another dog in the home isn’t just a preference—it’s a must. 🐶 + 🐶

This petite tricolor girl has the cutest combination of a long, Dachshund-like body and those fabulous Rat Terrier ears. And her personality is just as adorable.

Their two kids came home from school with absolutely no idea there was a puppy waiting for them in the living room. Watching them discover Maisie and realize she was theirs had us smiling from ear to ear. 😭🩷

Those are the moments that make everything worth it.

A huge THANK YOU to Kara and her family for fostering Éclair, loving her, and helping prepare her for this next chapter. Kara says Maisie is the PERFECT name for her, and we have to agree!

🚨 FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME NEEDED — MEET ANGUS 🚨

Okay, Bulldog people… we need you. ❤️

Meet Angus, a 3-year-old English Bulldog with a giant personality, a love for balls, and enough wrinkles to make you smile just looking at him.

Angus didn’t have the easiest beginning. Before coming to his current family, he spent far too much of his life confined to a crate and wasn’t given the care or attention he deserved. For the past year, he has known what it means to be loved—and his family loves him very much. Unfortunately, they have reached the difficult decision that Angus needs a home better suited to his energy and strength.

Here’s the important part: Angus is a BIG, rambunctious, playful boy who has absolutely no idea how strong he is. When he gets excited, he plays hard. He has accidentally knocked adults down simply because he comes at life at full Bulldog speed. 😂

For that reason, we are looking for an adult home or a family with older children—no small children or elderly family members in the home. Someone with Bulldog or strong-breed experience would be wonderful.

Angus is:
❤️ 3 years old
❤️ Neutered
❤️ Up to date on vaccines
❤️ Loving and affectionate
❤️ Ball obsessed and loves to play
❤️ Has done well with female dogs
❤️ A champion napper, as the photographic evidence clearly shows 😂

His experience with male dogs and cats is unknown, so appropriate introductions would be necessary.

Angus doesn’t need perfection. He needs someone who understands him, can give him structure, and will love that big Bulldog personality. Underneath all that muscle and enthusiasm is a very affectionate boy who deserves his right match.

We would love to find a foster ASAP, and an amazing forever home would be even better.

THIS WEEK’S LAID-BACK LADY: DAISY 🌼

At 11 years young, Daisy has figured out what really matters in life: a comfy place to nap, a little sunshine, a leisurely evening stroll and people to love. 💛

This gorgeous Great Pyrenees/Golden Retriever mix is officially in a foster home, and now we get to see just how wonderful she really is.

Daisy is a certified couch potato… until someone says the L-word. 😂

LEASH.

Then our laid-back senior lady is READY. Her favorite part of the day is a short 20-minute evening walk, and after that? She’s perfectly content to return to her regularly scheduled relaxation. 😂

Her foster says Daisy truly asks for very little.

☀️ A sunny spot for sunbathing
🐾 A short daily stroll
❤️ Plenty of loving pats
🛋️ A comfortable place to relax near her people

And Daisy comes with some pretty impressive house manners!

She is 100% house-trained and can be trusted loose in the house — no crate or kennel needed. She also knows basic commands including sit, come and lay down.

For an 11-year-old girl whose entire life recently changed, Daisy has shown us just how incredibly adaptable and loving senior dogs can be. And judging from these pictures, she has already figured out that foster dads make excellent pillows. 🥹❤️

Daisy’s forever home doesn’t need to be complicated. In fact, she’d probably prefer that it wasn’t.

Because she’s a senior girl, we’re looking for a home with minimal stairs and flooring where she can get good traction — rugs or carpet over slick floors will help those older legs. And because she’s a fluffy senior living in Texas, Daisy may love her sunbathing, but she definitely needs her indoor AC time! 😂

If your idea of the perfect dog is one who doesn’t need constant entertainment, is happy just being near you, enjoys a nice little walk and has already left the puppy shenanigans FAR behind…

🦌🩵 TESS HAS A NEW NICKNAME… “PRANCER!”

Tessera’s foster family has officially nicknamed her Prancer because when this sweet girl gets happy and runs around the yard, she doesn’t just run… she prances like a little reindeer! 🦌🐾

And seeing Tess happy and carefree is pretty special considering where her story began.

Tess is the mama of our Rhythm Puppies. She and her babies were abandoned in rural northwest Houston, where this incredible mama kept her puppies safe from coyotes, wildlife, the Texas weather, and everything else that came with surviving outside.

Her puppies are now happily settled into their forever homes.

Now it’s Mama’s turn. 🩵

Tess is about 2 years old and believed to be a Border Collie/Hound mix. She is currently safe with a wonderful committed foster family, and they’re getting to see more and more of her personality as her confidence grows.

She can still be skittish around lots of people and needs a little time to feel comfortable. But once she knows she’s safe, there’s a completely different Tess waiting underneath.

And her foster family has discovered something VERY important about the home Tess needs:

🐶 Tess needs another dog.

She absolutely adores her foster family’s dog, Odessa. Tess follows her around, they play tug-of-war every day, and having a confident canine companion has been a huge part of helping Tess come out of her shell.

She would be an AMAZING second dog for a family looking to add another pup to their pack.

And kids? ❤️ Her foster family has children ages 8 and 11, and Tess is wonderful with them!
