Going into year 4 doing color analysis in Houston and I can still say I have the best job! Sometimes it’s just a subtle shift and the focal point readjusts and harmony comes into focus. Swapping a more harmonious cool highlight tone for the brassy warm tones does just that. Small, intentional changes can be transformative. Many thanks to my beautiful client Linh for sharing this update with me- I love it and hope you do too!

Sister/sister! Genetics are so fun to see play out in the studio. Sometimes they are total opposites and sometimes they are the same, but no matter what, the 12 tone method ensures we get the most accurate results! These beautiful sisters share the need for depth, but one leans more warm-neutral and the other is cool-neutral. Some colors may appear quite similar as they are both influenced by winter and autumn, but different enough to suit each.

When you look at a photo of yourself, do you see YOU or something else? The power of color analysis lies in finding the right versions of color so that YOU can be seen. And when that happens, everything else falls into place. Your skin appears smooth and even (not red, uneven, or washed out), your hair shines, and your teeth sparkle. We see YOU! When the color overpowers us we appear out of balance and have to work even harder to get back to the natural state of harmony! She obviously thrives in cooler-neutral tones, but the strength of winter is too much. The soft summer influence is much more natural and harmonious.
