Zionism is the defining ideology of American Jews today, but the movement to reclaim a moral anchor and strengthen a liberated diaspora is gaining momentum. Drawing on his personal spiritual narrative of deprogramming, as well as a lengthy career in American political engagement, Rabbi Moti Rieber will offer a brief history of Zionism and trace the past five decades of the American Jewish community’s relationship with it. Reb Moti is a graduate of the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and currently serves as Executive Director of Kansas Interfaith Action.
