On May 4th, we celebrated the launch of the 11th annual AltCap Your Biz 2026 Pitch Competition at Third Place Lounge.
During the event, we shared small bites, enjoyed cocktails, and revealed the theme of this year's competition: To the Stars!
We are excited to continue building momentum toward the live competition on November 18 at Union Station!

🙌 Our first Loan Readiness Workshop, cohosted with The Black Mastermind Group, brought together 27 local business owners for real talk on accessing capital, understanding the underwriting process, and getting loan-ready.
Kansas State Senator David Haley joined us as attendees gained hands-on experience of the financing process through the lens of an underwriter, and walked away with the tools and confidence to strengthen their loan applications.

ARTPOP was an incredible evening celebrating the Kansas City Art Institute 2026 senior class, with works spanning every medium imaginable!
We enjoyed curated bites, cocktails, studio tours, and a live metal pouring demonstration that had everyone gathered around in awe.
The night wrapped up with POPTRA, a vibrant showcase of student-designed costumes and performance art that left the whole room buzzing.
We all left feeling inspired and so proud of this community of artists. Congratulations to the KCAI class of 2026, your impact is just beginning!
