An Enhanced (Level 3 out of 5) risk for severe weather exists this afternoon through the evening, with severe chances decreasing further north and west. Discrete storms are expected to initiate around 3 PM before congealing into a line and pushing southeast through 8 PM. All hazards are possible with discrete storms, before severe hazards develop into a primarily damaging wind/embedded tornado threat as storms congeal into a line. There is an additional concern for flash flooding with locally heavy rainfall in the strongest storms. Some uncertainty remains in exact timing/placement of storms during the day, as well as the influence of daytime showers/storms in northern Missouri.
