Wraparound support services are important, and necessary, in our community. The new RideKC transit ambassadors support riders across a multitude of services beyond wayfinding and directions. Our program coordinator had the opportunity to interview two of them.

KCATA 's grace period officially ends today and all riders will be required to pay fares on the bus moving forward. We're continuing to support efforts to ensure those who rely on public transit continue to have access.
So far, we've processed more than 600 applications for 50% reduced fare. And we're actively distributing single-day passes on a limited, first-come first served basis to nonprofit partners.
Joshua B., who is 68 and relies on support from a partner food pantry is planning to apply for discounted fares and is extremely grateful for a single-day pass he can use to pick up food next month.
“I ain’t got no ride. So I really do need the bus to get to the doctor, the Social Security office, or just going point A to point B. This pass is going to help me out a lot. I appreciate it very, very much.”

Kansas City’s public transit network has you covered for all FIFA World Cup game day and fan fest activities. KC streetcar will be running boosted service on all 18 fan fest days with anywhere from 9 to 12 streetcars. In addition. “Streetcar Link” buses will also be running the route in order to add capacity and efficiency to the main transportation corridor.
🚨Please note that Main St between 27th and Pershing Rd will be closed to all autos beginning several hours prior to, and the conclusion of, all Fan Fest days at National WWI Museum & Memorial

ICYMI - As the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority began collecting fares this week for the first time since 2019, we recognize there have been a few bumps along the way. For the most part it has been a successful transition back to fares, with riders taking the necessary steps to be able to pay the fare beginning June 1.
Following a good deal of confusion over a grace period, KCATA is announcing that there will be a firm grace period for those who do not have the fare until end of transit services June 14. On Monday, June 15, all riders must pay the fare. KCATA apologies for the confusion.
“We know that returning to fares is an adjustment,” said Chuck Ferguson, interim CEO. “This firm deadline of June 15 gives our customers adequate time to access the app or fare card they require.
