Is your puppy the BOSS of the walk?
➡️Here is why...you missed this step.

➡️You skipped the foundation. Most everyone does.

Most people snap on a leash and head straight outside, then wonder why their puppy either drags them around OR plants themselves like a brick and refuses to move.

✅Here’s the step everyone misses:
The first leash lesson happens in your house, not your neighborhood.

I start with circles. Around tables, ottomans, through furniture, weaving around stools.

Why this changes everything:
✅ Repetitive motion focuses their brain instead of letting them fixate on every distraction ahead
✅ YOU become more interesting than whatever’s outside
✅ Circles create natural rhythm - they start following your movement patterns
✅ Indoor = no distractions so they can actually learn what the leash means

This isn’t about exercise. It’s about teaching them that YOU lead, they follow.

✅The result? When you finally go outside, they already know how to walk WITH you instead of fighting against you.

No more being dragged down the street. No more puppies that turn into concrete statues on walks.

👉Most trainers tell you to “tire them out first” - wrong approach. Alert, focused puppies learn faster than exhausted ones.

✅Start inside. Master the basics. THEN add the world.

➡️This was their first time EVER on leash. Notice the calm focus? That’s what happens when you build the foundation first.

✅Save this if you’re tired of chaotic walks!

No yelling, no pushing—just science based training!

Where the reward comes from = where your puppy will go. If you reward from your hand when they jump? They’ll keep jumping to reach the reward. If you reward at the floor? They’ll stay down. Simple.

🔹 How to teach it FAST:
➡️ Use a gate first to prevent jumping on you. This enables you to keep the puppy engaged and walk way when needed.
➡️ Walk up. If they jump, say nothing. Ignore.
➡️ The moment they sit or step back, drop the treat on the floor.
➡️ Repeat. Repeat. Repeat. Until they CHOOSE to stay down.
➡️ Then? Test it. Encourage jumping. If they don’t take the bait, you did it right!

Counter surfing? SAME RULES APPLY. Let them jump. Wait. As soon as they get down, reward away from the counter. Be careful not to chain the behaviors. When you walk away ask for another behavior before you reward.

This method = NO jumping, NO frustration, and NO bad habits.

It works fast. Save this & send it to a friend who needs it!

Hanging out, working while I make dinner.

The other day someone asked me the age old question, how often do you train your dogs. I usually reply, "Everytime I interact with them, because that's how often they're learning from me. For the better or worse." Which is true, but may not make sense to everyone. I have to also do my other household and family and work duties of course, so if I'm living a life, how can I train around the clock?

The same way I parent. We have times a day we allocate to homeschool. But when I'm not teaching math, I don't stop raising my kids. I have to also teach them how to think for themselves, how to interact appropriately with others, to advocate for themselves, to mitigatate life's hardships, and those things aren't in a curriculum and have no lesson plans. They're just life organically happening. I wouldn't stand back and let my dog struggle with how to handle a loud noise, loose dog on a walk, or interactions with a new person. I coach them when the occasions arise. We train here and there to incorporate a new behavior, putting it on cue, but 95% of our "training" isn't math, it's how to navigate life calmly and mindfully. 🫶💚🐾
