K3 Karting

Thanks to everyone who came out today to help. It’s way too muddy and wet to get anything else done so we will not be out there tomorrow.

We also won’t be practicing next weekend as there’s been way too much rain to get on the track. We will hopefully be able to get a little more work done next weekend.

Thanks to Tony and Chris for coming out and putting in the last window and door. We also had a lot of people who helped pick up the last of the debris and we got a new grill put together.

We are supposed to get a ton of rain tonight into tomorrow morning, so for anyone who is planning to come out this weekend to help - bring shoes that can get dirty! The track is probably going to be too wet to pick rocks, but we do have other projects we are working on.

We will be to the track by 10-10:30.

This Saturday and Sunday is our track cleanup weekend for anyone who would like to come out and help. We still have a lot to do to be ready for opening weekend, and as of now between all the rain and the tornado it’s not looking like we will be ready for the scheduled practice.

I was asked to put out a list of things that still need to get done:

Rock picking on the track
Building a new deck for the concession stand
Painting inside the concession stand
Fixing one of the traffic lights that got knocked out
We found out the roof of the flag stand and the floor have damage from the storm that we need to fix
General cleanup
Reframing a door and adding a window inside the concession stand
Straightening the transponder tower

We have several tools out there, but if you’d like to bring your own that would be great too.

I want to thank everyone so far that has donated items or helped us find things we needed to replace. We are still looking for a set of bottom cabinets if anyone sees any cheap anywhere!

Big thank you to Tony and Chris Devea for coming out and siding all day. Thanks to Chuck and Zoey for coming out and helping put in windows and pick up debris. We appreciate all the hard work put in today.

Still a lot of work to be ready for opening day. We’ll be out here tomorrow around noon and next week is our track clean up day.

We’ll be out at the track Saturday if anyone handy is looking for something to do!

With the season getting closer, we are looking to fill some staff positions again this year.

Looking for someone to be trained as scorer. You’d get trained for a few weeks before being on your own. This job is sitting in the flag stand with the computer, but also manually hand scoring the karts on paper too.

We are also looking for a tech guy, this should be someone who is mechanically inclined and has knowledge about racing. This job will also have training to get you certified.

It’s also always good for us to have some back up corner workers/grid workers, so if you’d be interested in doing that you can send me a message.

You know what this means!

Joe found a groundhog hole under the old concession stand and he told him 5 more weeks until our first race.

Got the old concession stand torn down today so the new trailer can take its place.

The inside of the new trailer is mostly bare so next up is to channel our interior design skills.

Thanks to everyone for watching out for us, we did buy a new trailer for the concession stand. We are working on getting it out to the fairgrounds. The inside looks a lot better than the outside - it’s been well kept and has some electric inside, as well as heat and air.

We have quite a bit of work to do inside and outside and we are looking for several things if anyone comes across them cheap or free.

Possible Flooring
Office chair
