We are moving this week. We are open for limited services through Wednesday morning (4/26) while we pack, then closed from Wednesday afternoon until we open again at our new location on May 1st. New address is right around the corner at 817 W CENTER ST in Kalispell.

Construction but Still OPEN - Anytime Lock & Safe Utility construction has the road closed near Center Street, but we are still open! Make your way around the construction and road closed signs and into our parking lot. We look forward to seeing and to serving you!

On Thursday, April 28th, from about 1pm-3pm, we will have no power in our store due to neighboring construction. We will only be able to do limited work at the store during that time, using key cutting machines on one of our vans and mobile credit card readers. We would love to see you, but we do advise coming earlier or later that day, or a different day this week. Sorry for the inconvenience, and thanks for your patience and patronage!

A ring of several keys was turned in to us. The person that found them said they were along Clark Road (but could be Clark Drive?). There are several keys of various types including three auto keys. Only one of the keys is chipped, so they are for not for newer vehicles, and look like a Buick, a Chrysler/Dodge or similar, and a Nissan key that could also be for a different Japanese or certain models of Ford. If you think they may be yours, give us a call, (406) 755-4920, or stop by. If you can describe some of the other keys on the ring, we will give them to you!

Thief Uses Locksmith to Steal Car in Oakland You’ve heard of the thieves breaking in and hot wiring cars, often using high-tech methods, but an Oakland man says a man stole his car in a surprisingly low-tech way.

Road construction update: One entrance to our parking lot is now poured and cured, and the street is paved, so getting back closer to normal. The open entrance is the one closer to our building, and access from the back at 6th Ave WN and Railroad St is an alternative. There will almost certainly be some additional interruptions to traffic as they continue to pour sidewalks and pour and cure the second entrance to our parking and the gas pumps, but -- hopefully! -- we'll be back to full access soon. All sorts of door hardware make up many of the most-touched surfaces by multiple people, even during our periods of “sheltering” due to this virus disruption. But we at Anytime Lock & Safe have had a few inquiries and smart questions about minimizing the spread of COVID-19 or other “bugs”, so thought we would provide some clarification for others, too.

LIMITS OF ANTIMICROBIAL FINISHES

Yes, many brands of door hardware, especially commercial lines, offer antimicrobial finishes and coatings. But please spread the word so folks DO NOT assume these will prevent the spread of COVID-19 or viruses in general. Most utilize silver, which theoretically can inhibit viruses, but certainly not effectively enough in this application. (These finishes from reputable brands are proven effective at reducing the spread of a broad spectrum of bacteria, but NOT viruses.)

So, even if your facilities and properties already have hardware with antimicrobial finishes, please still be diligent about cleaning your hardware. And for those of you interested in purchasing hardware with antimicrobial finishes, we would be happy to serve you, but we do not want anyone having false impressions about what these finishes can and cannot do.

CLEANING DOOR HARDWARE

When it comes to cleaning hardware, just getting the appropriate materials can be difficult lately, but we have posted a flier of recommendations from one of the larger companies that owns several brands of door hardware. These should apply to pretty much all brands and most materials/finishes.

Of course, if you cannot source a recommended cleaner for your hardware, and it comes down to using a cleaner that is available (perhaps bleach) even if not recommended for your hardware, but can — when applied appropriately — kill viruses like COVID-19, by all means please prioritize safety over aesthetics and lever longevity and use what you have.
