Today is the last day to vote for the primaries. If matters of property taxes, social security, water rights, school choice, income taxation, and AI Data centers matter to you, then we highly encourage you to be diligent in finding out how candidates have voted in the past and what they stand for.

Our vetting committee and board members have given suggestions based on interviews with legislative candidates that were willing to go through our vetting process. The committee has put the hours in finding out facts and doing as much as they can to get a response on how current and newly entering the race candidates view these matters and other topics that matter to Montanans.

Many agree with our suggestions and some don't. At the end of the day it up to you, your own person, to make a sound and wise decision. Facts don't lie and they speak loudly. Be willing to dig and find the answers for yourself and not through emotionally driven third parties. Voting matters in the Flathead Valley. Vote wisely.

Montana Property Tax Structure 2026 (FULL Video) 05/29/2026

Did you know that Montana has the most complex and progressive property tax structure in the United States? Recently we found a video (watch for yourself, take notes) of where leaders who actively tried to lower taxes explain in detail how our new 2026 tax changes affect Montanan's. They do a good job breaking down how it specifically impacts the Flathead Valley. If you take the time to watch it please comment below your thoughts.

"This is not a republican or democrat issue. It's a Montanan issue. Montana value assessments have almost 3x in 10 years. Residential property tax change has gone up but the commercial property tax change has even gone higher. Learn what can you do as Montanans to create and encourage change in 2027 Legislation. Montana's need to be able to afford to live in Montana and not be taxed and expensed out of the Flathead Valley and throughout the state. Many are land rich and money poor. Reality, many are land and money poor. It's time to look at how Montana can operate with less government dependance and likewise less squeezing of locals purse strings from the state. Cost of living is high, labor cost is high, energy and water bills are high (especially western Montana), property and income taxes are high, social security is being taxed on money that has already been taxed, property is being assist every 2 years (it's time to look at capping that otherwise we acting like the wild wild west with no regulation on how much state can tax an individual) and Montanans and the people who visit Montana are feeling in their bank accounts." Montana Spotlight

Do your research on your candidates and see where they stand on the current Montana Property tax structure. Voting matters and so does understanding truth, facts, and reality. Talk is exactly that, just talk. Our state and valley need people who will be voted that will do what they say they will do. We are dealing with the consequences of a handful of conservatives that "talked a good talk" but when it came down to commons sense voting failed the people of Montana and Republican party.

Did you know that Montana is 1 of 8 states that TAX Social Security benefits as of 2026? Meaning a double taxation on funds an individual has already paid while working. Many feel it's unfair compared to the vast majority of the country that exempt these payments.

Montana House Bill 148, introduced during the 2025 legislative session, with the purpose to exempt all Social Security benefits from the state individual income tax. The bill officially "died" in the process in the House on May 20, 2025.

If topics like this matter to you it's important how you vote. It's important to find out who is going to go to bat on issues like Taxing Social Security. Enclosed is a link to see who voted for the bill and who did not in 2025 legislation. When you click on the link select "floor". Then you will be able to see the stats.
