Our brilliant student and intern, Sylvia is featured on this post from App Inventor! We’re so grateful for our relationship with the App Inventor Foundation. Our student use the MIT App Inventor as the platform for creating their apps in our afterschool programs! It’s an incredible resource for learning block coding, logic flow, design and so many other technical skills that build upon critical thinking skills and problem solving!
Sylvia is a wonderful part of CGU and is a shining example of what our students are capable of when given access and opportunity to gain technical knowledge and skills!

This weeks Computer Science Term of the Week is Syntax Error.
Following up from last week's word Syntax, we explore Syntax Errors.
Syntax Error is an error that occurs when the code is not written in the expected format of the programming language. Syntax errors are usually detected by the interpreter or compiler before the program is executed. Often something simple like a missing semicolon or an incorrectly capitalized letter.

This weeks Computer Science Term of the Week is Syntax.
Syntax is the way a particular programming language expects its code to be typed, following the rules defined by that language. Kind of like grammar for English.
Our Code Girls United students learn to understand the syntax for MIT App Inventor code blocks. You can learn about AI in our free AI Academy at the link in our bio.
