Lots of progress in November!! 🏆🦍❤️ I’m so proud of all of these kids. These students all have one thing in common, they show up consistently and do their best. It’s easy to see the new belt or patch, and forget all of the sweat, tears, and practice when the mood wasn’t quite perfect.

These guys are learning really early that even though some days are harder than others, they can keep inching forward.

They know in their bones that they can do difficult things.

Lots of love for my evening crew ❤️ Goodbye September!! Also, Goodbye Greg! This post is overdue, Greg is my first student that I have guided white to purple belt. He was not who I expected. Not a 20 year old with time to burn, but a father, now stepfather, and grandad working full time.

Greg found jiu jitsu during a difficult transition out of a divorce. He had installed garage doors for work for over 20 years and was feeling stuck. The job helped make him very strong and surprisingly creative. His consistent work ethic and attendance at the gym paired with these hard earned qualities allowed him to progress steadily. He started helping coach kids class and became an integral part of the community. He met his new wife outside of the gym. ❤️ He was willing to be flexible and change the way his life was headed. When he encountered a problem on the mat he would address it and come up with a solution that worked for his frame and mind set.

While he will be greatly missed, he will be closer to , another SBG. I’m certain he will be a positive force in that community as well.

My evening crew is often full of families training together. These are a few of them husband/ wife teams, brother/ sister, brothers, and of course the class crew that becomes closer each training session.

I didn’t have the match I wanted yesterday, but probably the one I needed. Got submitted for the first time in the Masters Division.

Thank you to my coach .davison.35 for always being in my corner. Even the night before officiating a wedding!

Thanks you to everyone who came to watch my match. It was so awesome to look out and see teammates, Origin Camp crew, and friends from other mats.

I am so freaking proud of the SBG team that showed up this year. Especially the ladies ❤️.

Thank you to for helping me with my nutrition. I was 15 lbs lighter than last year. More work to do.
