A section of the Flathead River will close to boating temporarily starting July 8 at 7 a.m. while crews work to install steel girders as part of the ongoing Sportsman’s Bridge project on Montana Highway 82 (MT 82) northwest of Bigfork.

The Flathead River will be closed approximately 20 feet upstream and 500 feet downstream of Sportsman’s Bridge on MT 82 from 7 a.m. on July 8 through 6 p.m. on July 9.

The closure applies to all motorized and non-motorized watercraft, including kayaks, canoes, rafts, and paddleboards. The Sportsman’s Bridge Fishing Access Site will remain open during this time for boaters traveling southbound (downstream) on the river toward Flathead Lake.

Louder for those in the back!!

I've told my family that if they go hiking dressed as a tree, I'm not coming to find them!

When you go out hiking, it’s not only important to have the right equipment but also to be wearing the right clothes. A single image shared by a Colorado search and rescue group this week shows just how important the right outfit can be on the trails.

PSA: While it may look like summer down here in the Valley. Our higher elevations are still snow covered. If you plan on going for a Sunday drive (or bicycle ride in this case). Be aware of what you are going into and always pack prepared!

Our members were out until daylight assisting a lost bicyclist up Fitzsimmons Creek who was not dressed for the weather and was running out of food and water.

We are here for you!!
