These were attempted to be captured in one gallon ice jugs. There was complete pe*******on and zero rcovery with the slugs being heard impacting approximately 212 yards behind the target.

Recoil is measured as transitional energy. More correctly using joules. Felt recoil depends on the weapon, the stock design, how you hold it and other factors. These rounds calculate to an average of 62..4 Ft-lb or 84 joules. The standard 30'06 yields 21 Ft-lb or 28 Joules.
