Juneteenth is a celebration of freedom, resilience, and the ongoing pursuit of justice. It is also a reminder that the work of creating equitable, thriving communities continues every day.

At Michigan Transformation Collective, our work in racial healing, advocacy, and the Blueprint for Peace is deeply connected to freedom, equity, and justice. Together, these efforts help address the systems, narratives, and conditions that impact how people experience opportunity, safety, and belonging in our communities.

This Saturday, we’ll be joining Juneteenth Celebration, and we’d love to connect with you. Share with you more about our work, share your hopes for our community, and celebrate this important day with us.

Yesterday at CVI Advocacy Day in Lansing!

It was encouraging to see Governor Whitmer in Kalamazoo to commemorate Gun Violence Prevention Month and stand alongside the advocates, community leaders, and organizations working every day to create safer communities.

Every day, we are reminded of the lives impacted by gun violence in our neighborhoods. That is why the Blueprint for Peace exists to bring people together around prevention, healing, opportunity, and community-driven solutions that help create a safer, healthier, and more thriving Kalamazoo for everyone.

The work continues, but moments like these remind us that meaningful change happens when communities and leaders come together with a shared commitment to peace.

At Michigan Transformation Collective, we believe transformation begins with relationship.

Our work is rooted in racial healing, narrative change, and community power. Through collaboration, storytelling, and collective action, we are working alongside community partners to move from harmful hierarchies toward hope, courage, and love.

This is more than a mission. It is a commitment to building a future where every person and community has what they need to heal, belong, and thrive.

Racial healing is not something we do alone. It is something we practice, build, and carry together.

Our Racial Healing Community of Practice gathered for a powerful meeting rooted in connection, shared learning, collaboration, and a deep commitment to repairing harm, building authentic relationships, and transforming systems.

At Michigan Transformation Collective, we believe many of us are racial healing practitioners, whether we are caregivers, educators, artists, storytellers, researchers, facilitators, mental health providers, DEI leaders, organizers, or community members working to integrate healing into our personal and professional lives.

Our Community of Practice is a space for practitioners to collaborate on racial healing projects, support one another, strengthen our skills, and continue building toward equity, wholeness, and shared humanity.
