UPDATE!!!! Since the car crashing into our building on Oct. 31, all of our plans have been put on hold. As we were putting the finishing touches on our collectibles shop, we had contractors look at the damage and we have had to re-pack most of our goodies and give them room to work. Unfortunately, we are unable to show off our collections. BUT---if you are interested in a particular type of collectible, call us (269)343-7777 and we will try to find it and bring it upstairs for you to see.

Jeep crashed through closing costume, magic shop 'The Timid Rabbit' on Halloween day A Jeep crashed into the side of a costume and magic shop Friday morning.

UPDATE:
On the morning of Halloween, a Jeep crashed through the side of our building — hard enough to break through the block wall and into the shop.

By some miracle, it happened right before we opened and Laura had just gone upstairs to get something so no one was standing at the register and no customers were in the building when it happened. If they had been, this post would be a very different one.

We spent what should have been our busiest day of the year sweeping debris, shifting displays, and doing our best to keep the doors open. To every customer who still came in — who shopped through the chaos, offered kind words, and showed patience — thank you. You reminded us why we love this community.

Unfortunately, the loss of business, upcoming repair costs and destroyed products and collectibles that were on and near the shelves, turned our biggest day of the year into our biggest loss. So while we don’t ask for donations or handouts, we are asking for something simple:
If you’ve ever loved The Timid Rabbit — the costumes, the chaos, the nostalgia — please come visit us during our Post-Season Sales (Noon-6pm, Wed 11/5– Sat 11/8).

Every small purchase helps us recover from our losses. Whether you grab a mask, a wig, a funny gift, or just stop in to say hello — it truly makes a difference.

From the bottom of our hearts, thank you again for supporting a small, family-run business through good times and bad. We’re so grateful for every one of you, and we hope you all had an amazing Halloween. 🎃🧡

⬇️BE SAFE OUT THERE!⬇️
This morning, just before opening, our building was hit full speed by a vehicle.

They hit hard enough to go through the block wall and into the store. Fortunately, nobody was at the cash register at the moment so we are all physically safe.

Despite this, we are still open for business in our upper level part of the building to help you with your Halloween needs. Just please understand that the downstairs will not be open. Because of the devastation, we can only conduct business in our uppe@r level. At least until we can clear the glass, bricks, destroyed product, and other debris from the floors.
