Prescription drug abuse, using a drug in a way other than prescribed or taking someone else's medication, is on the rise in our county. Sixteen serving staff completed TIPS (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) for responsible service, sales and consumption of alcohol last night. KCSATF coordinator Ashley Bergeon is a certified trainer if your restaurant or bar is interested!

Two important members of our Task Force are away for training. We are excited for them to return home to teach us what they have learned. But we think they might not be as excited about returning to the snow.

Calling all Kalamazoo County Youth between the ages of 14-18!!!
We need your sticker designs for our annual Sticker Shock campaign! We are looking for designs that clearly convey the message that providing alcohol to minors is not acceptable.
Designs are due Friday, February 19th by 5pm.
Designs can be dropped off at the Prevention Work's office, mailed to Prevention Works: 611 Whitcomb, Suite A, Kalamazoo, MI 49008 or emailed to Stephanie Sutton: [email protected].

Thank you Sindecuse Health Center staff at Western Michigan University for welcoming the Task Force to your meeting this morning. Task Force coordinator Ashley Bergeon and Achiles Malta, South West Michigan Behavioral Health, shared important statistics on opioid drug use and prescription drug statistics and how together we can reduce misuse.
