Comstock Fire & Rescue had a great time visiting Comstock Elementary on June 1st and 2nd for the students' end-of-year celebration!

As a special treat to kick off summer break, our firefighters brought a fire engine and helped cool the kids down with some water fun. There were plenty of smiles, laughter, and excited students enjoying a memorable end to the school year.

We are grateful for the opportunity to be part of this tradition and to connect with the students, teachers, and staff of Comstock Elementary. We hope everyone has a safe, fun, and relaxing summer!

Stations 9-1, 9-2 and 9-3 responded to a reported structure fire on Harway Ave this afternoon. Crews arrived to find smoke showing from the basement. An electrical fire was quickly extinguished. Due to early notification and quick actions by our personnel, damage was minimal. No injuries were reported. Assistance on scene from Kalamazoo Township FD.

'Bridging a critical time gap': Life EMS brings blood transfusion program to West Michigan Life EMS Ambulance is launching a new program this summer that allows paramedics to administer blood transfusions from the field.

EMS response improvements on the horizon for Southwest Michigan.

A first for West Michigan: paramedics to give blood transfusions at emergency scenes Starting in July, Life EMS Ambulance will become the region's first service to equip field units with blood products, specialized warming equipment, and rapid transfusion devices for critically injured patients.
