We’re excited to share that a new Walmart Neighborhood Market is coming to our community!
This addition represents continued growth and investment in our local economy. Bringing new jobs, expanded retail options, and added convenience for residents and visitors alike.
We appreciate the partnership and look forward to welcoming Walmart to the area. Stay tuned for more updates as this project moves forward!
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE Justin, Texas — The City of Justin, in partnership with developers Marathon Development and Warner Group, is proud to announce the successful recruitment of a Walmart Neighborhood Market to serve the community. This milestone reflects several years of collaborative effort between the developer and City leadership to bring a high-quality grocery operator to Justin.
The planned grocery store of approximately 45,000 square feet will include a Pharmacy and will be located within the commercial portion of Justin Crossing near the intersection of John Wiley Road and FM 156. The City is currently coordinating with the developer on a Economic Development Agreement to support the project and ensure its long-term success.
This addition represents more than a new grocery option for residents. It is a strategic investment in the City’s economic future. Thoughtful commercial development plays a vital role in maintaining a healthy and sustainable economic ecosystem. By expanding the local commercial base, cities can diversify revenue streams, reduce reliance on residential property taxes, and enhance overall quality of life. Retail anchors like a neighborhood grocer often serve as catalysts, attracting additional businesses, creating jobs, and encouraging further investment in surrounding areas.
The new store is expected to create approximately 75-100 jobs, further contributing to local economic vitality and providing employment opportunities for residents.
“Smart, intentional growth is essential to the long-term success of our community,” said Jarrod Greenwood, City Manager for the City of Justin. “This project reflects our commitment to balancing growth with the needs of our residents. By strengthening our commercial base, we are not only improving access to everyday amenities, but also creating opportunities that support economic stability and help ease the tax burden on our community over time.”
The City of Justin, Marathon Development and Warner Group share a unified vision of responsible growth that preserves the character of the community while positioning it for the future. The Walmart Neighborhood Market is expected to serve as a cornerstone development within Justin Crossing and a driver for continued commercial expansion along the FM 156 corridor.
Additional details, including project timelines and construction updates, will be shared as they become available.
