“A dark sky doesn’t happen by accident; these are not remote lodges that just happen to be in places where there’s a dark sky. In fact, go to the most remote accommodation on the planet and it’s very normal to discover that their lighting is awful. Not so DarkSky Resorts. “These are all lodges that have a dark sky and have thought carefully about their lighting, followed our lighting plan, developed a lighting plan and modified light where necessary so they can protect what people are coming to enjoy,” said Hartley.”

The Lyrids are active each year from roughly April 15-29. This year, they are expected to peak in the predawn hours of April 23, at 1:06 UTC. Luckily, this year the new moon falls on the 19th so if the weather is clear and the sky is dark where you are you will have no problem seeing the show!

Some time ago I had the honor of researching and sharing the stories of Jupiter’s Black heritage for my client- Loxahatchee River Historical Society- from pioneering days to present elders who were children in the towns’ earliest years. Thank you for inviting me to sit at the kitchen table with you and hear stories of day long walks down sandy paths to get groceries every week and a self sufficient community who lived with joy and dignity.
Thank you for your trust. When we pass down stories, we gain a better understanding of ourselves and the world.

I researched and wrote interpretive panels and installed them in a traveling exhibit that made its’ debut at the West Jupiter Community Center followed by the Palm Beach County Library, Jupiter Branch.

The rich fishing cultural heritage, meeting good folks like Cindy Lyman Jamison Janet Naughton John Jolley and working with talented Martha Blumel whose patience and creativity took my conceptual designs to awesome, complicated graphic production are the elements that helped make this project one-of-a-kind. So proud of what we accomplished Martha ! Epic interpretive at Jaycee Park, .
