Breast Implant Illness does not discriminate.

This patient had Motiva microtextured breast implants for only one year before deciding to explant. During surgery, surgical mesh was also found embedded within the capsule, clearly visible on capsule cutting.

This is an important reminder that symptoms and concerns are not limited by implant age, brand, or how long they have been in place. Every patient’s experience is different, but the body’s response to foreign materials can be significant, even in a short period of time.

Listen to your body. Your symptoms matter.

Messages like this mean everything.

Five days post-op and already feeling the difference.

“Thank you, Dr. Rankin! You and your staff are amazing. I am so happy with my results and how I’m feeling on my fifth day after surgery. Thank you for taking such great care of me throughout the process. I truly appreciate everything you and your team have done! ❤️

Only 5 weeks post-op and already seeing a wonderful transformation.

This 57-year-old patient had her 380cc saline implants removed with an anchor/Wise pattern lift to restore a more natural, lifted shape.

Early healing, natural results, and a fresh start.

What makes this work meaningful is not just the surgery.

It is the woman who finally feels heard.
The relief after years of questions.
The messages that say, “I feel lighter” and “I feel like myself again.”

This work matters because every patient’s story is personal, and every woman deserves to feel informed, supported, and heard.

Today’s complimentary virtual consultation day was a true success.

I had the privilege of speaking with women from Texas, Georgia, Vancouver, the United Kingdom, and beyond. Each conversation was different, but the goal was the same: to listen, educate, and help women feel more informed about their options.

Thank you to everyone who joined us today.

Don’t miss our next complimentary virtual consultation day on August 11. Spots are limited, and we would love to meet you virtually.

There’s a quiet shift that happens when you stop trying to meet an idea of yourself and start returning to what feels real.

Your body no longer feels like something to maintain or to prove…it just is, soft and present, moving with you instead of against you.

As the implants are released,so are the layers of expectation, comparison, and identity that were built around them. What remains is a softer, quieter connection to the body, one that no longer feels shaped by external ideals but guided by inner truth.

In that sweet simplicity, something opens….a deeper kind of beauty emerges: natural, grounded, and free.

You realize you were never missing anything…you were just carrying things that weren’t yours.

And now, without them, there’s space to breathe, to feel, and to exist without effort.

Six years post breast explant surgery and grateful for each day, and for my incredible dr and friend and .hicks_explant_liaison 🤍🙏🏽

Hi friends! Guess what? My explant with Dr. Rankin went perfectly. Drains were removed on the 5th (surgery was the 1st) and I can’t believe I actually did it—and I am ever so thankful for the amazing staff and talents at Aqua Plastic Surgery.

So far I’m healing really well, very little discomfort or pain—only treating with Arnica and lots of rest.

The only negative so far is extreme bloating after surgery. You’d think I’m 6 months pregnant right now it’s so intense. (And yes, all is well in the 💩 world) but I know it will pass.

I’ve been quiet the last couple of days, just resting and taking daily walks with my bestie. I thought I’d be up for more but to be honest the quiet space and rest is much needed.

My mind feels clear, a huge weight literally and figuratively off my chest (seriously these things are heavy!) my neck pain and tension is gone which is wild because ive been yanking on my neck for years.

I’m starting to breathe deeper now that the drains have been removed and looking forward to healing more each day.

I can’t wait to get home to my babies but need the daily reminder to take it slow. I always want to go fast and I know it’s worth it to take it one day at a time right now.

Thank you for all the love and support. This was a long time coming and I’m excited to come back to me. ❤️

One of the greatest privileges of my career has been listening to the women who come to me for explant surgery.

Many arrive after years of symptoms, uncertainty, fear, or frustration. Some are ready. Some are emotional. Many are both.

What I have learned is this: explant surgery is not just about removing implants. For many women, it is about feeling heard, feeling safe, and taking a step toward feeling like themselves again.

Every patient’s story matters, and I never take that trust lightly.

These Allergan TEXTURED silicone implants were 586cc, placed over the muscle, and had been in place for 11 years.

The capsules were found to be calcified, thickened, and extensively contracted, making it very difficult to even cut. The patient chose explant because she was experiencing severe pain and discomfort.

This is why we say: listen to your body. Pain, tightness, hardness, or changes around your implants should never be ignored.

The capsules were sent to pathology for further testing.
