Open since 1967, our store is a locally-owned, Alaska Native family business in Juneau, Alaska that Mt Juneau Trading Post started as one store in 1967.

Since then, we have opened a second location across the street, Chilkat River Trading. We carry an array of luxury, handcarved artwork from all along the NW Coast. We also stock a selection of more affordable goods that are designed by Indigenous artists, so everyone can take a piece of Alaska home with them! Please feel free to visit us and ask questions. We love to share our knowledge. Our store is like a museum where you can pick up and buy the stuff you learn about!

The Mt. Juneau Trading Post and Chilkat River Trading will remain open today.

While we believe the national shutdown is vital and important to fight the powers that be, we simply cannot afford to close, and neither can our employees.

It’s high time we prioritize small and local business over big corporations. Our community is always what’s going to get us through. Hug your friends, love your neighbors, and remember, we’re always in this together.

A portion of our sales today will be donated to the National Immigrant Justice Center, and we encourage those shopping today to use cash if they are able!

All the love,
The MJTP Fam ❤️

Our new selection of Copper Canoe Woman has us absolutely drooling this holiday season. There’s sparkles, abalone, glitter! A personal fave in the store are the salmonberry florals. They’re to die for.

Whether they’re for a stocking, a gift under the tree, or a treat for yourself, you can never go wrong with CCW. 😌
