A 29 year old woman complains about leg pain in a hospital. On her third hospital visit, she refuses to leave until she receives adequate medical care. The hospital, rather than taking an ultrasound of the woman's legs, calls the police and has her arrested for trespassing. She is unable to walk from the police car to the jail upon arrival. So, the police drags her to a jail cell and leave her there unattended. The woman dies alone, in a jail cell a short time later from untreated blood clots in her legs.


As someone who has been in various hospital in "third world countries," I have been more shocked at the scenes I have personally witnessed/experienced in American hospitals than anywhere else. The only country I have been to, where I felt like the medical system was worst than America's, was Cambodia. A place that was in the midst of a civil war followed by a period of Anarchy as recently as 20 years ago.

ObamaCare is not going to destroy our medical system. Because America's medical system is already destroyed.

SJR 13, a Resolution calling on President Obama and the U.S. Congress to amend the US Constitution to limit the amount of money that Corporations, unions, special interest groups, and individuals can donate to campaigns, was just passed in the Alaskan Senate. Woot woot woot!! Now, SJR 13 will be sent to a House Committee. We only have a few weeks left to get this Resolution passed through the House. It will take work in the form of emails, phone calls, and office visits from all of you in order to have this passed. I will post more details as they become available.

There is an activist from Anchorage currently in Juneau on day 9 of a hunger strike. His name is Kokayi Nosakhere . His demand? For the House Finance Committee to schedule Senate Bill 3, a bill that would require (and provide funding for) school breakfasts and lunches. If this bill is not scheduled by the end of session, it will die in Committee. Rather than provide meals for children, the co-chairs of the House Finance Committee are holding this bill hostage in exchange for HB110. HB110 is a bill that would give oil companies tax breaks. So, if you remember, we got invited to give a presentation at the local Rotary Club a few weeks ago. Turns out, they canceled the presentation at the last minute because the chapter president speculated that he wouldn't like our message. So, since I had the entire presentation all written out and everything, I decided to put it online as a video.

It's about 20 minutes long, and admittedly it is weak on special effects and a bit dry, but it should do a pretty good job laying out what the Occupy Wall Street movement is so concerned about with regards to the current state of the economy.
