November is Native American Heritage Month but it’s indigenous peoples day every day! I walk in two worlds but this is, was, and always will be the land of my grandmothers people. Proud to be of the great Tlingit and Haida Nations of the Pacific Northwest Territories. How are you decolonizing, uplifting, and paying back?

Loving this years Celebration shirts! I just got back from Alaska where I was attending a thing we call CELEBRATION - it’s a celebration of our living culture, thousands of people from our tribes of Southeast Alaska come together every two years for music, dancing, language, food, art, fashion, and so much more. Thanks @shinstitute ❤️

As July starts and brings June to an end we would like to wish you a Happy Pride! We went to Taking Black Pride and Indigiq***r Festival! (Info in comments). We also want to say Happy Juneteenth and Indigenous History month of so-called Canada! And, happy summer!

Covid has impacted our communities in Seattle and around the globe. We would like to recognize that Native, Black, POC, q***r, disabled, economically under privileged, and single parent homes were impacted most of all. We are all of those things in this house. We were also able to witness a lot of community coming together in mutual aid. Lots of love!

Ona spent most of her time enduring a housing pushout, trying to do school, and much more. We also spent time gardening, honing her art and writing gifts, as well as spending time with the people closest to us. We are proud to say Ona is prevailing beautifully and growing in to a bright young person who has just graduated eight grade with awards! She has some big things coming up. For youth ages 10-18: The wonderful folks at Young Women Empowered (Y-WE) are partnering with Coyote Central to provide a Zoom conversation specifically for youth on Wednesday, 11/4, from 4-5PM PST. Hosted by Cheryl Delostrinos & Ebo Barton with support from Youth Speaks Seattle (William Nu'utupu and Ana Walker) and Devin Majkut. You do not have to be a participant of Y-WE Programs to join.
