The season is a wrap friends!

Spawned out humpy pictured here caught by hand by the fisherman himself. At three years old he caught and released more fish than most people this year.
What does the seasonal shift toward fall mean for your family?

Turn-around days. The sweet snippets of time in between those long trips at sea where we try to fit it all.
Rest, recuperation, play, clean up, re stock supplies, family time, solo time- all the things. We really made the most of it this turn around and all felt restored in some big ways. Especially this young one whose fishing reel was majorly upgraded for our daily excursions on the docks catching and releasing some fascinating creatures.
We don’t expect to see Captain Chris and crew between each trip, and mostly we just try to keep a mindset that we’ll just see them in September. Making these times all the more precious. And our aspirations to get aboard all the more highly anticipated.

"Alaska salmon report: Troll kings worth more than oil"
An honor to be associated with such a headline.
Photo taken summer 2016 father and sons anchored up together on the outer coast.
Alaska salmon report: Troll kings worth more than oil; base price up in Bristol Bay | National Fisherman Early prices to Alaska salmon fishermen are trickling in. As anticipated, they are up across the board. That will give a nice boost to the economic base of both fishing communities and the state from fish taxes, fees and other assessments.

Captain Chris, age 7, threading herring onto hooks as bait for wild King Salmon.
His concentration, focus, and dedication to his craft continues to be nurtured with the same fervor and intrigue as this time. Though the tools are more expensive and the risks higher, keeping a line of connection to this innate interest has fueled much of our decision making as adults.

The wild places draw us.
Societal expectation to grind may try to tame us but we always return to the wild spaces. Nurturing our feral natures, adult and child alike.
The concept of grounding comes in many forms. 🌅🌊🏔

Distance makes the heart grow fonder;
At least that’s what we tell ourselves these times apart. (And the work strengthens him to carry both these growing boys simultaneously 😋)
Chris and his trusty crew member is at sea and the boys and I are holding down the fort ashore for now, although the requests from the young ones to go on the Orion are becoming incessant. For now though we are fishing small poles off the dock for fun holding the other part of our family in our hearts.

A beautiful King and a stoked crew member, a priceless combination!
Three years now we’ve been fortunate enough to know Cole and his immense stoke level, supreme positivity, and drive to fish as much as possible! This guy literally gets done fishing with us in Alaska and heads home to Wisconsin to ice fish the winter away!
I’ve been quiet here for the sake of relocating our family to the outer coast yet again in Sitka 🥰 Chris and Cole are at sea and the kids and I are fishing off the docks. We’re anxious to get aboard when the time is right. For now we are settling in, immensely grateful to call this fishy place home again.
Coho pre orders open on our website.

The face of a captain with returning crew on the cusp of the King opener 🥳
Last day for discounted pre orders of frozen Coho fillets delivered to your door.
Those of us at Nash Family Fish never want to feed into scarcity mindset and do that urge you to buy now now now thing that we all get so annoyed by. We’ve simply been busy on so many fronts and pre orders make the most sense for buying WILD and beautiful Alaskan Salmon.
Fare winds and following seas to the troller fleet out on the outer coast. 🎣

Our prices for Wild, hook and line caught Salmon broken down to per pound, per serving, and how many servings per box.
Because we know it’s hard to plan a year out how much fish you’re going to want or need, and we all want to know what the cost breakdown really is.
Hope this helps. This graphic will be on each of our frozen coho items in our web store.
Please take note that reserving 100 pounds of our catch is the most cost effective. We know buying fish in bulk is an investment, and everything is better together, so speak with your community and see if you have friends/family/co workers that might want to go in on this bounty with you. ⚓️

Alaskan Salmon is the center point of our lives for a multitude of reasons. Connection and nutrition being paramount, but also, simplicity. Our family tends to keep it simple in the ways we cook salmon multiple times a week, keeping it interesting with different flavors and sauces.
Frozen Wild Salmon fillets can even be cooked frozen with little prep, preserving all the nutrients and flavor.
