Looking back at the historic Joliet Slammers event on April 30th, Gregory T. Peerbolte, CEO of the Joliet Historical Museum, shared what the most jaw-dropping part of the whole project was.

"The biggest 'wow' is when the field itself was restored."

Thanks to the incredible work of sports field professionals, the old grounds were completely revitalized. It gave the community a truly unique, wonderful setting to witness the game of baseball colliding with local history.

On April 30th, history was made at the Old Joliet Prison. 🏟️⚾

While fans at the historic Joliet Slammers game saw the iconic exterior, Gregory T. Peerbolte, CEO of the Joliet Historical Museum, revealed a part of the prison that usually stays completely out of sight.

"One of my favorite parts of the prison is the chapel... it's a very distinctive space."
