Words Fail Me
Using focused imagery, unbridaled emotion, and expressive brilliance, Wesley's compilation arguably leads poetry into a new realm of artistic discovery.
-Ravenous-
Streaking through sultry air
Permeated by sweet grass;
Birds of hunger fly.
Stalking nourishing things
Which dwell amongst moist caverns
Hidden within the earth.
Mother of living
Creatures, worthy and lowly,
Working rank, hard dirt.
Hidden in high places,
Camouflaged from searching eyes-
Restless stomach moans.
Invisible, cold
Intentions waiting moments;
Lunging onto prey.
Crosses like whirlwind
Through calm skies and pleasant breeze:
Surprise awakened.
Watching heavens pass
Through leaf and branch of safety:
Boldly triumphant.
Territorial:
Protecting areas earned
Like politicians.
Peering at earth's worker,
Unaware of eyes watching
Already spent life.
Singing and happy.
Feeding mouths of its own blood.
Learning the hunger.

I have written as a hobby for many years. Now that my children have grown, I found opportunity to compile my first book of poetry for publication. I will be publishing additional books of poetry, short stories, children’s books, and other interests soon.
As any author dreams, I can only hope that my current and future work is well-received around the world both now and for many generations to come.
I welcome and appreciate reader reviews pertaining to my work.
