⛳ Woodruff Golf Course 100 Year Anniversary Celebration
Clubhouse Then & Now
In May 1925, the Board approved the acceptance of George and Louise Woodruff’s land donation for a golf course and agreed to help fund the construction of the course and lodge, with expenses not to exceed $30,000. On Labor Day, September 6, 1926, Woodruff Municipal Golf Course officially opened to the public. Just one year later, in 1927, George and Louise Woodruff donated additional land, allowing the second nine holes to be built.
The course continued to grow over the years. The original clubhouse was renovated in 1963, and a new clubhouse was planned by the Joliet Park Board in 1997 and constructed between 1998 and 1999.

Opened September 6, 1926, Woodruff Golf Club has been a part of the community for a century of golf, memories, and tradition. Special thanks to George and Louise Woodruff for offering their land to the Joliet Park District on May 2, 1925, helping make this historic course possible. 💯
